Post-Production &

Broadcast Delivery

Audio quality is the baseline for audience retention and dialogue editing for a natural sounding conversation. I comprehensive audio post-production experience to enhance your production.

Common Challenges:

  • Noise reduction
  • Pops and clicks
  • Hums, buzzes and electrical noise
  • Umms, ahhhs and like.... filler words distracting from core message
  • Awkward gaps and finding the right pacing.
  • Too many pauses or circling around to get to the core idea
  • Vocal balance between interviewer and guest
  • Quiet to loud sections. Taming the big peaks and valleys of audio levels

It is important to find a balance and keep the conversation natural and not over process it yet still tighten it up to keep it professional.

Not sure what is wrong with your podcast audio? Send a sample and I’ll tell you what can realistically be cleaned, mixed, transcribed, and exported.

I made a podcast. What files do you need?

Review specs, prep final audio files, check loudness, and organize delivery assets.

A good podcast starts before you hit record. The right setup depends on whether you are making an audio-only podcast, a video podcast, conducting remote interviews. Having all your needs meet ahead of time ensures you can focus on your interaction with the guest, rather than troubleshooting audio challenges.

I can help you plan a simple and affordable recording setup, choose the right file format, avoid common audio problems, and create a post-production workflow for transcription, cleanup, music, mixing, and final delivery. Based on how tech savy you are we can figure out a game plan.

Basic recommendations:

  • Use separate microphones for each speaker whenever possible
  • Record separate audio tracks for each guest/host
  • Avoid recording in echoey rooms or spaces with loud HVAC or electrical items like fridges.
  • If you need gear look for rental solutions.
  • Use headphones and monitor.
  • Record a backup source when possible.
  • For video podcasts, record clean audio separately from the camera if you can for sync later.
  • Use consistent framing, lighting, and camera position
  • Capture a short test recording before the real interview
  • Keep music, intro/outro, ad reads, and sponsor spots as separate files
  • Save the highest-quality files, not just compressed exports

Send me your podcast idea, recording setup, guest format, and release goals. No obligation chat to set you up for success.

I can recommend a simple video/audio workflow before you record so the final edit, transcription, mix, and export are easier.

You can send either audio-only files or a video podcast file, depending on how the episode was recorded and where it will be released.

Solution: For the best results, send the highest-quality source files you have. That might include separate microphone tracks, a stereo mix, video file, music, intro/outro elements, notes, transcript needs, delivery specs, and your deadline. If you only have one exported video or audio file, I can still review it and let you know what can be improved.

What to send:

  • Audio-only podcast: WAV, AIFF, MP3, or separate mic tracks if available
  • Video podcast: MP4, MOV, or exported video file
  • Separate guest/host tracks if available
  • Current edit or rough mix
  • Music, intro/outro, ads, or sponsor reads
  • Show notes by timecode
  • Broadcast/distribution specs, if applicable
  • Rollout schedule and delivery deadline

Send the best version of your podcast that you have. Audio or video along with your deadline and any delivery specs.

I can review it and tell you what is needed for cleanup, transcription, mixing, loudness review, and final export.
